Raoul Shah
On 13th October 1993, I launched exposure with the idea of building brand credibility via the power of network. By putting the right people and brands together, I began creating positive word of mouth and credible awareness for my clients. Lifestyle Brands were the core of the business and we managed events, PR and product placement for several brands. In the early days, these included Boxfresh, Firetrap, Tango, Dazed & Confused, Converse, Replay Jeans and The Ministry of Sound.
In 1997, Tim Bourne joined as Joint MD and he launched a consumer brand communications division. Today, this represents clients such as Diageo, 3, Sony PlayStation, Triumph, Rizla and Stella Artois. We now have offices in London, Paris, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles, employing over 140 people across 10 specialist divisions. Turnover for 2006 was close to £20 million.
I take an active role across the whole business with particular focus on the fashion, media and lifestyle sectors. My current client portfolio extends to Levi's, Dr. Martens, Original Penguin, Umbro, Edun, Bill Amberg, Jess James, Bell & Ross, Ben Sherman, Gieves & Hawkes, Coca Cola and Land Rover. I am also responsible for overseeing the growth of exposure USA via our offices in New York and San Francisco, which service brands such as Sony, Casio, Penfolds and Globe-Trotter luggage.
Strange but true - I am an obsessive collector. From The Clash memorabilia to snow-globes, skateboards to Do Not Disturb Signs (once seen in the windows of Liberty)
